		Architecture and Design

	The harmonious coexistence of Japan’s ancient and modern traditions is demonstrated most conspicuously in its architecture. G H A’s customized Architecture and Design programs may focus upon a specific architect, such as Tadao Ando or Shigeru Ban. Our more general courses may begin with 7th-century temples in Nara and conclude with 21st-century landmarks in Tokyo, Osaka or Sendai. Next

The Naoshima Contemporary Art Museum sprawls over lush, green vistas overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. Buildings are designed by renowned architect Tadao Ando. Whimsical outdoor sculptures dot the expansive landscape and public spaces, creating an environment which celebrates human creativity.

			The Miho Museum

	The Miho Museum is located near beautiful Lake Biwa and surrounded by the Shigaraki Mountains near the ancient capital of Kyoto. Designed by architect I.M. Pei, the museum’s ultra-modern campus features a blend of ancient and contemporary art traditions, reflecting the harmony of past and present that exists in Japan.
